logiccloud x FLECS

Virtual controls intuitively implemented on the edge device.

The virtual industrial controller logiccloud Control will soon also be available as an app in the FLECS Marketplace. logiccloud Control makes it possible to control machines locally or via the cloud and independently of a physical PLC and is characterized by a particularly intuitive implementation and operability. The application is compatible with almost any hardware and the implementation requires practically no programming effort.

With the connection to the FLECS Marketplace, logiccloud now offers its users an additional, particularly convenient option for setting up a virtual controller and configuring individual applications. FLECS is already supported by a large number of PLCs, IPCs and edge components and is already pre-installed by an increasing number of manufacturers. It only takes a few minutes to set up a user account. Via the FLECS Marketplace, logiccloud users can put together their application with just a few clicks using an individual collection and orchestration of containers and adapt it as required at any time. This makes it easier to get started with digitalization, accelerates the start of automation projects and offers the necessary flexibility for changing requirements later on.

logiccloud control makes it possible to tailor the PLC functionalities precisely to the respective user profile, which makes the solution lean and agile. Unlike a physical PLC, costs are only incurred for the features that are actually required. In combination with affordable flat rates for the FLECS Marketplace and the dynamic scalability of logiccloud control, this automation solution is significantly more cost-effective and future-proof than conventional solutions.

logiccloud control will soon be available in the FLECS Marketplace for download.

In addition to real-time monitoring, many industrial IoT applications also require the evaluation and comparison of historical measured values. Current sensor data can be time-stamped via logiccloud and stored and retrieved in a time series database over defined periods of time. With the connection of InfluxDB, logiccloud users now have access to a particularly powerful, fast and lean database.

The influxDB database can be very compact even with several million data records. Compared to conventional relational databases, InfluxDB offers clear speed advantages and can also maintain high write speeds over a long period of time. The system automatically adapts to the workload, which is particularly important for industrial IoT applications and machine learning, where the amount of data can change at short notice.

With the integration of the InfluxDB interface in logiccloud, sensor data or pre-processed measured values can be written directly to an InfluxDB. This expands the possible uses of logiccloud and at the same time reduces the complexity of automation solutions.

Typical application examples are

  • Calculation and evaluation of KPIs
  • Active energy and climate management
  • Storage of sustainability data

The interface is available in all logiccloud products. InfluxDB can be used locally on an edge device or as a cloud-based SaaS solution via the AWS, GCP or Azure cloud environment. Configuration takes place in the logiccloud portal. Extensive configuration options and different recording modes are available for this purpose.

This update is also based on feedback from the growing logiccloud community. The bigger it gets, the faster we can drive development forward. So: just give it a try! We look forward to your non-binding registration.
